What WatchDesk is
WatchDesk is the official submission and valuation app for Luxury Time SA, South Africa's premier authenticated buyer of fine timepieces. You submit your watch in the app, our specialists return a confidential offer range within 24–48 hours, and the transaction is finalised in person at any of our five branches.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an offer take?
Most offers are returned within 24–48 hours of submission. Complex pieces (vintage, very high value, or unusual provenance) can take up to 5 business days while we consult specialists.
Why is the offer a range and not a fixed price?
The range reflects the spread we can confidently quote from photos and your description. The final price within that range is confirmed once the watch is physically inspected and authenticated at the branch — condition often varies meaningfully from photos.
Do I have to sell once I've accepted an offer?
No. Acceptance is a binding agreement to sell within the quoted range subject to the watch matching your description. If, at the in-person inspection, the final confirmed price is unacceptable to you, you are free to walk away — no fee, no obligation.
What's a collateral loan?
You use your watch as security against a short-term loan instead of selling it outright. Term, interest rate and repayment schedule are agreed in advance and comply with the National Credit Act. The watch is held in our insured vault and returned to you on settlement.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Settings → Delete Account inside the app permanently deletes your profile and any pending submissions. We retain anonymised records of completed transactions for 5 years where required by FICA — your name and contact details are removed.
Can I sell from outside South Africa?
The transaction itself must be completed in person at one of our SA branches. We do, however, accept submissions from Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini and Lesotho where the seller is willing to travel.
Is my data safe?
Yes — see our Privacy Policy. We do not sell data, do not run advertising, and do not use third-party tracking inside the app.
